Below is a list of the current home workout programs that I have done. It took me some time to say no to a gym membership, but I am very glad I did in the end. I will also be creating my own product in 2016 that will take bits and pieces of what works best in each program, as well as my own experience. So lets get to my list of programs I have completed.
One of the big name workout programs even today, Insanity changed how many people see fitness. This high intensity interval training took everyone by storm. However, Insanity is not easy by any means. If you are determined to lose weight while following along with Shaun T, than Insanity may be right for you.
I wanted to build a lot more muscle than Insanity provided for me, but it was definitely an interesting experience. I was drenched after every workout. For the most part, I feel like this workout is actually great for women. Most women I know don’t want to pack on tons of muscle, but want an awesome cardio workout. Insanity is a great place to get started, and start to see those results.
Here is where it all started for me. The very first home workout program I challenged myself with. This home workout program is tough, and you will need some equipment to get started. These workouts can range from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, so be ready if you take this challenge. I loved the difficulty as it pushed me to a new level. Great results came from this workout program, and I am modeling my own after quite a few of the exercises.
In my opinion, this home workout is best for men. I say this because it is a muscle-building program versus a cardio one. The number of pull-ups and push-ups the people in the videos are doing is extremely difficult to achieve. If you are a woman and want to build some size, try it out I won’t stop you. Just be ready to really dig deep to get through all of the workouts each week.
This is a program I use consistently. Why? This program only takes 30 minutes a day, and kicks my butt. While working 40 hours a week and trying to get all of my other plans done, workouts start to become harder and harder to complete during my day. I can easily fit my 30 minute workout in, and I love the variety given in the workouts.
Again, you will need equipment to get through these workouts, so be ready when that comes. This program is designed for both men and women. Unlike Insanity and P90X, I feel that P90X3 caters to both male and female pretty evenly. You have your weight training days, and you have your full-body cardio based days. The evolution of P90X can be seen here, and it is a great one. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to get serious with their home workouts.
Another big cardio-based workout, T25 takes what works in Insanity and drastically shortens it. Each workout is only 25 minutes long, but you may feel like it is much longer. With the high-intensity training, you will be sweating, cursing, and digging deep down in order to get the best results.
What I like about this program is it incorporates more body weight and strength training than Insanity. There is some use of weights and a pull-up bar for those who have one. You can get by with just resistance bands to save a lot of money.
Overall I think this is a step up from Insanity, and I am glad it makes it to 25 minutes and no less. The 10-minutes workouts don’t really do enough (don’t believe the hype)!
As I complete more home workout programs I will give you my personal thoughts on them. For now these are the ones I have completed and can safely review on. Please follow my links above for the best home workout program reviews.
